Old friendships may fade with time and distance, but remove those obstacles and "voila"--it's like re-disovering a favorite book, or toy, you loved and lost and realizing how precious it is still to you.
David and I first met Carlos and Jena after moving into our home in GC. Jena was assigned to be Becky's VTer and the two couples found we had much in common--but enough different to keep things fun and fresh. Perfect combination!
Graduate school, new homes and job changes moved our families apart, so we were thrilled to get an email from Jena this summer asking if they could stay with our family last weekend. I am still tired from staying up late talking! It was so much fun!
One of the things we have in common is a love of nature, Jena is from a small town in Idaho raised with six siblings (similiar to David). The chickens were loving the extra attention from Jena's girls (and Jena!)
The kids loved playing fuseball, and while they hadn't seen eachother for 5 years (I'd been by myself in a girl road trip to Minneapolis Mn a few years back to stay with Jena), they were instant friends and spent hours playing happily together.
We went to some fun places too...need to create some more posts for those!
