Here chickie chickie...

David and the kids finally got their wish to raise baby chicks this spring! We picked them out at a local farm (20 minutes away) and brought them home (--in an old Kentucky Fried Chicken box no less!!!--provided by the farmers wife! LOL!). They are amazingly easy to take care of, and David has finished their home now. These pics are from the first few weeks, the chicken "house" is finished with a pitched roof and cute door now. And the surviving livestock is quite chicken-y now, not so cute and fluffy. (Our neighbors watched the chicks while we were in utah, and an animal apparently got in one night and had a large meal.)

Early on, just getting feathers, this is a Rhode island red named "Rhode", very original, I know!

This one was "Peck-Peck"

This one was a leg horn, they get very big, she loved to roost!
